The Committee of Management has a Price Formula Subcommittee that is responsible for negotiating the Price Formula Agreement and ensure the agreement is subsequently properly administered. The Price Formula is the mechanism that determines how much growers will be paid for oranges and grapefruit delivered to the factory. On a daily basis, the staff at the CGA monitors the New York Board of Trade (NYBOT) futures prices for frozen concentrate orange juice (FCOJ) to see when the future increase by 10% over the price quoted in the last fruit price submission received by the factory. Once this threshold is exceeded, the CGA requests a new submission from the factory.
Upon receipt of the new submission the Price Formula Committee along with key members of the Association's staff reviews the submission to ensure the submission is in line with the agreed Price Formula.
